J & K is looking for a Press Brake Operator
Position Overview
This position is primarily responsible for the daily set-up and operation of the press brakes in a precision sheet metal fabrication shop. You may be required to assist other employees as a helper on key work or machines as required by the work schedule.
Essential Job Requirements
- Operate press brake
- Set-up and run complex bend set-ups and forming operations. This includes custom punch/die modification used in combination with other tooling.
- Complex programming using all features of the press brakes. E.g. bending angles, step bends, proper back gauge transfer between steps, delays, etc.
- Understand print reading and geometric tolerances and how they relate to the finished part.
- Thorough understanding of flat pattern layout.
- Perform quality inspections while maintaining the production process so that quality output is achieved insuring sufficient parts of acceptable quality is produced to fulfill the order.
- Perform assigned work to time standards and quality expectations.
- Organize parts and prepare them for the next process.
- Expedite priority work orders as required in cooperation with the Production Supervisor.
- Account for time and work completed via online computer data collection system.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Must have strong metal forming and basic fabrication background.
- Minimum 2 years experience as press brake operator
- Basic ability to read and interpret blueprints and shop drawings
- Ability to operate a forklift.
